Shane Dawson Jack Paul series is really about YouTube broken heart – flange

Shane Dawson crowned king of YouTube in 2018 can not be denied: whenever he Download the film documentary about the personal, such as the internet stopped. Even if you don’t like Shin’s style or approach to his investigations produce first class online gossip that is not traditional media — or on YouTube, he was able to crack.

While the current eight-part documentary “The Mind of Jack Paul” in the first place described itself as explore Jacques Paul potential sociopathy at its core lies a more troubling question: is the constant shitshow of YouTube as a result of its design, or is there something fundamentally wrong with the top artists on the platform?

In terms of titles, YouTube was a rough few years. Parents are concerned that social networking site feeds the kids garbage, the system always recommends the right-wing extremist content, conspiracy theories spread faster than the real news, the most prominent stars on the platform to maintain the performance of the morally questionable (if not outright dangerous) stunts in the name of the views. At the same time, many of the people who depend on the platform, I swear that YouTube doesn’t care about their interests or well-being only profit.

Some of these issues lie on the shoulders of YouTube as a company, but others have left the community reeling. Controversial incidents of the creators such as Pewdiepie, Tan Mongo, FouseyTube or Paul brothers had painted the house as a whole in a negative light and the creators are forced to deal with that stigma. There are many explanations, but most focus on YouTube, instead of people on the platform. In his documentary, Dawson raises another question: is there a fundamental problem with the type of person that YouTube attracts in the first place?

Shane Dawson’s Jake Paul series is really about YouTube’s broken heart The Verge

Say this meditation launched the latest documentary and he thinks that his whole life. the series almost in passing. “I’ve been wanting to do some kind of video about the idea that YouTubers should have some sort of personality disorder, something the right to do what we do” Shen says in his first book “The Mind of Jack Paul” video, which was uploaded late last month. “We put ourselves on camera all the time so open on camera all the time the existence of agreements with our name in it. There must be something,” he says over footage of YouTubers do everything from crying on camera to the announcement of the pregnancy.

Many of the things YouTubers do for their audience through the personal privacy plan. Most people won’t know about the breakup with the six-minute video, for example. YouTube fans have come to expect this kind of access to artists, though, this means that any person working within that space to play the game. Maybe don’t tell the teacher who you’re dating, but you have to tell them the story of the table, or you need to be honest about the fear or insecurity that you have.

Whatever the condyle, the point is that people want to feel that you are a human, let them is the easiest way to do this. In the case of vlogs that chronicle a person’s life, allowing your audience practically becomes work. It’s not a job that everyone can stomach, and this is why YouTubers noticeable in the first place. Through this measure alone, YouTube attracted a certain type of person.

“Do you think to be a YouTuber you must have something?”

“I want to know the psychology of YouTube… did you think being a YouTuber, you must have something?” Shen thinks. This is a personal question for Shane, given that a year is defined by the video where he shares touching personal moments with other great YouTubers. What, you wonder, what makes him want to be so vulnerable like that in front of the camera?

As the series progresses, the focus shifts primarily to explore whether Jake Paul seriously weird, like the whole lighting the pool on fire or not seems to ignore its safety, are the signs of sociopathy. But even then, you see flashes of what is truly a disturbing sheen. In the second episode, when YouTube visits to a licensed therapist, he tells her that the series was originally going to be about whether or not there is something that needs to be wrong with you is you want to be a YouTuber. At one point, The Wizard will ask rating not because it can’t figure out why his life turned out the way that it has. He says he knows that no one wants her to cover Jack Paul, but he feels he needs to do in order to cope with the same.

This is not a series about Cracker Jack Paul or rehabilitation of him — not really. This is Shane Dawson staring into the abyss, knowing full well that you will find something familiar lurking in the shadows. Maybe all the Youtube users on some level. “It doesn’t matter what he thinks about your videos or whatever everyone can agree how a lot of work … having to come up with the craziest shit all the time,” Shen says Jack Paul at one point during the series.

Jake agrees, saying that he feels that we have to top himself with each subsequent download. “I think where a lot of madness and insanity comes in,” Paul says. This feeling — the idea that we have to listen to the next thing always have to be bigger and better — at the heart of why a lot of YouTubers end up feeling burned out.

Not all YouTubers strictly follow in Paul brothers footsteps, but the blond brothers, the density of integration of the culture and conventions that YouTube has built over the years of constantly loading to generate extreme reactions and attitudes. This is the reason that most of the YouTubers watch Paul’s video and see the point in it, Shane John. This motivation is the reason Shane decided to cover Jack Paul in the first place. To say I felt that it might be more ambitious after the last two documentaries — and what could be more ambitious than taking on the YouTube the most hated character?

The series goes on, Shane reveals that he sees a lot of himself in Jake and Paul. In Episode 6, Shin remarks that they’re practically the same person as the exchange of stories about how all the stars I grew up with divorced parents that forced them in the work of construction. “This is very strange. This is weird,” Shane says. “I know that I have a lot of common things with you, I’ve had this strange gut feeling.” These difficulties, both the men pushed him to be creative through turbulent times.

Later in the episode entitled “The Secrets of Jack Paul” the younger Paul brother says he once went to a YouTube event and I felt ostracized from society. Shane says he understands that feeling completely, likely in reference to some of the alienation he felt after being criticized for things such as wearing makeup.

“Someone he hated for a long time it took years and years,” Shen says. “Now people are nice to me, but at that time?” The comparisons don’t stop there. Later, Jake and his girlfriend Erika Costell says Shane, “you are like very similar, in a strange way. It’s like scary.” Shen agrees that “it’s like looking in a mirror.”

Xin appeal in 2018 is that it is relatable to every man who doesn’t quite have the same with. Make fun of itself is part of the shtick. If Shane Dawson could see himself in Jake Paul scenes maybe can also. Jake is sad, the documentary implies because he’s a lawyer yes men who ultimately betrayed her. Or: Jake ended the way because his family was dysfunctional. And: Jack Paul Jack Paul because he always seeks for more. You can get it, right? Jack Paul is all of the United States and the two buildings on the platform of this narrative proposed is terrifying.

The crisis in the city YouTube not only that everyone is capable of making a bad decision or two which can turn to Jacques Paul deserves the title, but all of it is likely to fall into errors similar trap when Sheikh stimulate the most successful YouTubers is just ambitious to capture eyeballs.

“Most of the YouTubers attention of researchers. We want attention. We thrive off of it,” says YouTube’s leading gossip reporter Keemstar in the latest episode of Shin documentary. “And the best way to get attention, especially on people for attention, drama.”

Shen documentary ends this week, and while it may not claim to answer the question What if Jake Paul is a sociopath, a diagnosis, it is not wise to be beside the point. If YouTube treats science now is largely amorphous one that the community can’t seem to wrap his hands around. “Socially” may not be the appropriate word for it, but recognize that there is a problem in the center of the YouTube can be the start of a better conversation. When things are named, it can be understood and tamed-and perhaps eventually conquered.
