IMC 2018: Reliance Jio and “Ericsson” show 5G use case for driverless cars – technology news, Firstpost

The second day of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018 more demonstration central, and then the day was more interactive. One of the most important parts of the event was the experimental use of through Reliance Jio, Ericsson, to show 5G contribution-independent vehicle technology.

Basically use-case demo was divided between the two places. In the Aerocity place, where there was a simulation setup, which was the screen that was showing photos from the camera that has been installed on a car without driver in IIT Delhi. To about 10 km apart.

What we saw was the person in Aerocity, control of the driverless car in IIT Delhi, A video that is broadcast from there through 5G. Basically, this demonstrates the low latency and efficiency of 5G that have the ability to easily connect in real-time, regardless of the distance.

There was another demonstration, which was broadcast from Jio City Navi Mumbai, which showed a bus with all the glasses cover in the dark black paper so that they can’t see anything through this route by a bus live-streaming to the driver via virtual reality headsets.

These are very simple cases of the use of technology, however, if everything goes as planned, this type of connection can be great in after dealing with the cases. For example, the doctors that attend to patients and perform robotic surgery without geography being an obstacle.

At this point, you are likely to ask if they become a reality. We asked Jio and Ericsson representatives of the same question. We were told that Jio 5G ecosystem, which is basically consists of chips and peripherals compatible with the 5G, it will be available by the end of 2019 or early 2020. However affordable 5G products will only be available by the year 2021.
